OTA "On The Asphalt" is a sustainable and responsible unisex sneaker brand. The unique sole is made from recycled tyres that have already travelled the globe. The sneaker is made to high quality standards in a workshop in Portugal, using leather from Italy. This is a trainer with a minimalist and timeless design that is beautiful, eco-friendly and sustainable.

100% European production

The OTA brand has chosen to produce in Portugal, more precisely in a workshop located in the Guimarães region. This is in order to work in close collaboration with the production teams. High production standards and the use of noble materials such as Italian leather guarantee that OTA sneakers are of the highest quality. Behind this European initiative, the basketball brand wanted to offer an ethical sneaker, which highlights the human dimension behind each pair of shoes.

A quality leather trainer

In this desire to create a sustainable trainer, we turned to leather for its long life, and more specifically to cowhide from Italy. We use this material for the outer part of the shoe, but also for the inner lining to offer better quality and comfort. Leather is above all a by-product of the meat and milk industry; making a sneaker with leather is therefore in line with our desire to anchor the brand in recycling, to reuse and valorise a waste product.

A trainer made from 100% recycled materials is being tested
Another solution envisaged by OTA in order to propose a vegan and eco-responsible sneaker is currently being tested. The main material is 70% recycled rubber, combined with recycled plastic from the oceans. The inside of the trainer would be made entirely from recycled plastic, as would the laces. The aim is to offer a version of the shoe made entirely from recycled materials.
