HISTORY OF HALO

It all started in 1981 with founder Helge Petersen hanging in a parachute between heaven and earth, when he began to wonder why his suit was wet when the parachute was completely dry.

With a background in the Danish special forces and many years as a runner, Helge used the parachute to create an innovative range of functional products focusing on detail and comfortaccent.

At that time, Danish special forces excelled at jumping from high altitudes with a small opening . Now,three decades later, HALO pays tribute to both the founder and the legacy of Newline.

High altitude military parachuting is a method of delivering military personnel, military equipment and other military supplies from a high altitude transport aircraft with free fall parachute insertion. Two techniques are used: HALO (high altitude - low opening) and HAHO (high altitude - high opening). In the HALO technique, the parachutist opens his parachute at low altitude after free-falling for a period of time .

At Aalborg Air Base, the parachutes are packed by the Rigger Master; a person who holds an extremely important and prestigious position .The RiggerMaster's workshop is located in building 223 of the air base; the area where soldiers are trained to perform airborne operations for the Armed Forces.

The number 223 is featured on selected styles - for example the jacket HALO.

A Rigger Master is a person trained or authorized to pack, maintain or repair parachutes. A rigger must understand fabrics, hardware, straps, regulations, sewing, packing and other aspects related to the construction, packing, repair and maintenance of parachutes

ATW

The letters ATW are printed on the shoulders and calves of several models in the various collections HALO. ATW stands for Aalborg Tactical Wing, the name of the building at Aalborg Air Base where Special Forces parachutes are repaired and approved .The parachutes are made of nylon, and all ATW styles are technical clothing made of synthetic and dryfit materials.

To join the Danish Special Forces, you have to be in very good health while having exceptional self-discipline, self-confidence and the ability to work in extreme conditions. The Corps also requires high moral standards, self-criticism andendurance as well as advanced cooperative skills.

FUT

FUT is a military acronym for Physical Education and Training (Fysisk Uddannelse & Træning) - the original training program, which many soldiers have repeated over and over again in army gyms.

Soldiers' work is hard and demanding: heavy equipment and many long patrols in difficult terrain require good health and physical fitness .Exercises repeated to perfection and optimal equipment are important elements of the game.

FUT is soft cotton off-duty training gear with clear references to the training aesthetics of the original training program. All styles have an optimal fit and work well with technical clothing HALO (ATW).

The elite special operations force is extremely selective and competitive; thus, it is very demanding, both mentally and physically, to enter the selection course to become an elite soldier .Approximately 10% successfully complete the program and become full-fledged members of the Corps.
