Compagnie de Californie is a French brand born in Paris in 1983. Created by a team of stylists who spent several years on the West Coast of the United States. They were sucked into the unique atmosphere of California in the 80's, with an exceptional lifestyle bathed in sea, sun, sports, modernity and creativity, giving life to an ideal generation.

With a free and relaxed state of mind. Venice Beach is becoming the cradle of an astonishing mix of lifestyle cultures where surfing, skating and urban culture coexist. At the same time, a whole generation of new technology companies is emerging in the valley.
The Compagnie de Californie team was formed, and brought with it this laid-back lifestyle to France and gave birth to one of the first lifestyle-inspired brands "MADE IN CALIFORNIA".

The California Company logo and pattern are inspired by the graphic design of American universities in the 1980s. The DIEGO Jogging Pants have become emblematic and iconic. This new effortless, chic and natural style has appealed to generations of men, women and children, and word of mouth has helped the brand take off.

In the early 2000s, riding on their success, the founders decided to pursue other dreams in the US while letting the brand rest, waiting for the right time to return. In 2016, Compagnie de Californie re-opened its doors, after being invited to manufacture an exclusive production for the 20th anniversary of the prestigious Parisian fashion temple Colette.

Compagnie de Californie has just celebrated its 36th anniversary and is back with an equally authentic team. We remain true to our values, offering our customers original collections from our vintage Californian lifestyle heritage of the 80's, while remaining in constant touch with the influences of our new digital culture.
