The COIL R1 is certainly one of the most popular models in our range. The various special editions created in recent years with our partners around the world are proof of this. One of the reasons for the COIL R1's popularity is certainly its shape. The wedge-shaped forefoot area is very clean and a real pleasure to the eye. This, combined with the accentuated toespring in the forefoot, makes the hearts of all sneakerheads beat faster. The second reason for its popularity is certainly the multi-layer design of the upper, which offers great design options in terms of colors and materials. On this COIL R1 OG, several different-sized panels of soft suede have been placed on a mesh base. A third material comes into play on the heel tongue. We used a reflective 3M material. It matches the color of the lining. In the heel area, just above the midsole, is a stabilizer that surrounds the entire heel. This technology was developed to give the foot perfect lateral stability - essential for a running silhouette like this, even in the 1980s. The patented DYNACOIL cushioning system in the midsole and Ortholite insole make the port of the COIL R1 OG extremely comfortable. An abrasion-resistant rubber outsole ensures good grip and pleasant durability. Of course, the inside of the tongue features the original secret pocket KangaROOS. For the production of the Coil R1 OG, we use at least 32% recycled materials as part of our move to greater durability.
