Our slim-fit champion Lean Dean comes in a stunning new deep shade, made from vintage-like selvedge denim with stretch comfort from Kurabo, Japan. This unique selvedge denim is the result of a close collaboration with Kurabo, aimed at blending the rustic charm of vintage denim with modern comfort.

Designed to evoke the aura of 50s selvedge denim, we've opted for a rigid construction that highlights the weave. Notably, the chosen warp and weft threads have a distinctive slubbiness, giving the dry denim an uneven appearance that enhances its rustic appeal, which will become more pronounced as the denim ages. The warp threads, dyed with pure indigo, have undergone an additional soaking compared to Kurabo's regular deep indigo shade. By increasing the standard from 8 baths of pure indigo to 9, we've deepened the indigo hue, enhancing both the aesthetic quality and aging properties of the denim.

To intensify the vintage aesthetic, we have deliberately refrained from completely finishing the denim to modern standards. By bypassing the burning process that usually removes protruding fibers, the Apex features a slightly 'fuzzy' appearance reminiscent of vintage deadstock denim. Our intentional choice of deep navy for the selvedge's contrasting thread ensures that the Apex stands out within our selvedge range. As the denim ages, this contrast will become even more striking, adding a unique touch to its evolving character.

We recommend a minimum of 6 months of daily wear before the first wash, although extended wear enhances the unique aging process. While this may seem long, it’s just a suggestion; your jeans will gain character with love and wear.
