Founded in 1904 in Philadelphia by Frank Mitchell and Charles Ness (you've probably figured out by now where the name comes from), the company initially offered golf clubs, tennis racquet strings, and baseball and football uniforms for teams around the city.in 1933, the brand took its first steps in the NFL, outfitting the Philadelphia Eagles (Fly Eagles, Fly!), and did so for about thirty years! But it was in 1985 that the company took a radical turn, thanks to a special request from a customer who came with an old St Louis Browns jersey from 1949 and a Pittsburg Pirates jacket from 1960, and wanted to have them restored. A request that prompted the Philly company to reproduce old baseball uniforms. Reproductions made after long research in old magazines, with collectors, but also by visiting the archives of the Baseball Hall of Fame in New York. The Mitchell & Ness we know today was born! An offer that has since been extended to the NFL and of course to our beloved NBA, whose outfits have never stopped evolving, from the sober and pure jerseys to the > and colourful jerseys of the 80's and 90's.
